Adventure River are based in Monmouth situated along the river Wye in the heart of the beautiful Wye Valley in south Wales.

Canoe & Kayak courses & coaching

Adventure River, Courses – We provide an extensive range of courses in canoeing and kayaking, from beginner to advanced, traditional canoe to white water kayak, there is something to suit every taste. Certified British Canoe Union Courses are also provided. Our instructors are highly experienced and qualified in their sport and in coaching kayaking and canoeing, this comes from passion and enthusiasm from which you are sure to be inspired. They have paddled canoes and kayaks down thousands of miles of river all over the world.

Wye Valley Outdoor Activities

Try a short break, you can stay in a tipi and choose from activities including canoeing, kayaking, raft-building, climbing, abseiling, caving, problem-solving, mountain biking, High-ropes.

Wye River Canoe Trips

The River Wye has its source high in the beautiful mountains of mid-Wales, here from the same point, the River Severn flows to the North and the River Wye to the South weaving its way in and out of Wales and England down the historic border.
Descending the river by canoe is the best way to experience the natural beauty and amazing history of this ancient region, visit castles in Hay-on-Wye (the town of books), Goodrich and Chepstow. Visit Hay-on-Wye, Hereford city and Cathedral, Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth, Tintern abbey & old riverside Inns all along the way. You may go from a couple of hours to a week, there is 100 miles possible. We provide canoes, kayaks, guides, transport, planning and logistical expertise to make your trip simple and highly enjoyable.

Wye Valley Corporate Events

Adventure River provide corporate team-building and entertainment. This may be done for a half-day, day or even a few days. We utilize the natural team requirements of the canoe to develop communication, co-ordination, team-work and trust. Whether team development or moral booster there’s something to suit.  How about three days, canoeing down the river as a team, transporting your tipi with you to sleep each day, cooking on the fire and undertaking climbing on route?

Stag & Hen River Wye Trips

The best way to enjoy our river activities in a group is with a package. We offer trips of different durations, half-day, day, weekend or longer custom trips. These are all guided to ensure enjoyment and safety. We can arrange overnight accommodation in Tipi’s, bed & breakfasts, hotels or camping. You can arrange your own cooking or co-ordinate with us.

International Trips

International Trips – Join Adventure River Guides on an International trip, kayaking courses are available worldwide, Freestyle kayaking and creeking in Quebec, Canada. Surf the legendary waves of the Ottawa River and Lachine rapids in Montreal. Go creeking and river running around amazing Quebec city. Warm waters, hot sun and beautiful scenery. Run the famous rivers of New Zealand’s North and South Islands.       
Try kayak raft support in Nepal for endless days of play waves and white sandy beaches. Beginner kayak courses are also run in Nepal with endless gentle rapids on select rivers on which to learn your kayak skills.
